Belle and me are twenty or so episodes in on watching Lost together. It’s actually a damn good show so far, which I wasn’t expecting at all. We threw our five favourites out, and we said we’re locking them in. So if our people die, they’re crossed out on the list. I love how our opinions are so different in everything. Not in a bad way, like we don’t have anything in common. But we think for ourselves and don’t change the way we think because of how the other feels on a subject.
Okay, why is everyone so against Shane right now? Seriously. From the beginning, I’ve never understood it. But in season two especially.
Shane had been saying since the beginning that sticking around waiting for Sophia was going to come back to haunt them because she was likely already dead. And what happened? He was right.
Shane shot Otis for a reason. He wasn’t some senseless bastard wanting to shoot a guy. If he wouldn’t have shot Otis, him, Otis, AND Carl would have died. If anything, Shane’s smart for doing what he did. Otis was the whole reason they were on the death trip anyways. It’s not like he doesn’t feel bad about what he did. He’s not a stone cold killer.. We know that by the way he tries to get through to Lori. The guy saved the entire group. Not one person would be standing if it weren’t for Shane.
And let’s face it, Carl is a human being. He’s vertical. Meanwhile a deer is mostly horizontal. How the fuck did Otis not see him? He kind of deserved what happened to him.
Zombies are zombies. We know that. Rick knows that. Maggie knows that. Everyone but Hershel knows that. And just like Glenn said, even if they are just sick, they know how dangerous the walkers can be. Rick was wanting to stoop down just to make Hershel happy so that they could stay on the farm. And what would that have meant? That barn wasn’t in the best shape, and I’m positive good sleep isn’t easy to come by knowing walkers are in a barn less than a football field away. Shane was right to settle on killing them all.
It also helps because they know the answers on Sophia now. Also going back to the first bullet. Now Daryl doesn’t have to go out and kill himself over finding a little girl. One less problem to deal with.
I still can’t quite figure out what Dale has been doing, or what he was doing in this episode. But let’s face it, Shane made him look like a bitch. I don’t think I need to explain any further. I think Dale needs to start worrying about his own life.
Look, I realize that most of you are all about “doing what’s right.” And that’s completely fine..but not in the zombie apocalypse. Rick is too good of a guy to be the leader of that group. Do you know how many hours Rick was wasting away with search groups when Shane was the only one in the background saying she’s gone? Shane makes frowned upon decisions, I get that. But they’re also the best survival decisions. Shane is the smartest son of a bitch on the show. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, the group is nothing without him. You’ll see when/if he dies.
